Tarryall Creek Ranch

Nestled along the northern rim of the beautiful South Park basin in Colorado, the approximately 4,870 acre Tarryall Creek Ranch offers miles of trout stream, incredible wildlife and eye-popping high mountain vistas. Less than 90 minutes west of Denver and 45 minutes from Breckenridge, Tarryall Creek Ranch combines great fishing and hunting with the convenience of an easy drive from Denver or the resort.

Early in 2010, Beartooth acquired two neighboring properties along the ranch’s northern border. Together these properties add 600 acres that corner on Pike National Forest. These acres also expand the ranch’s productive grazing grounds for both cattle and the many big game species that inhabit the area. Elk frequent the property’s lush meadows throughout the year and use the ranch’s rich riparian corridor to calve in the spring.

Tarryall Creek flows through the property for more than four miles, offering anglers endless opportunities to fish wide-open meadows as well as technically challenging stream reaches and beaver ponds. The ranch includes one of the most impressive riparian complexes in the area, with hundreds of acres of beaver ponds, willow thickets and wetlands that serve as critical habitat for the abundant elk, deer and waterfowl. The ranch offers a wide range of landscapes, from aspen and pine stands along the creek corridor and its benches to wide open sub-irrigated meadows and expansive rangeland surrounded by public land.

The property is made up of three large ranches, each of which is protected by a conservation easement held by Colorado Open Lands. The easements ensure that the wide-open views, wildlife habitat and fish and wildlife are all protected forever while giving future landowners ample flexibility to operate the ranch and add residential, agricultural and recreational improvements to each ranch. Approximately 830 acres on the east side of the ranch have been listed for sale.
